146 Russian volunteers were poisoned by Black Sea fuel

On the Black Sea coast of the Krasnodar Territory of Russia, work is underway to eliminate the consequences of the fuel oil spill after the accident of two oil tankers. The regional Ministry of Health reported that 146 volunteers complained of poor health due to the toxic effect of fuel oil — they needed medical help, they report Crimea.Realities.

According to the Minister of Health of the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian Federation Evgeny Filippov, 146 people who participated in fuel oil collection turned to doctors for the period from December 18, 142 of them received outpatient care, three needed hospitalization — they have already been discharged. The official does not mention the fate of another victim. It is not clear whether it is a description or a silence about the death of a 17-year-old technical school student who participated in the collection of fuel oil.

Among the victims is a volunteer from Anapa Alice Schultz, according to the regional edition 93.ru. She became famous thanks to a video on the Internet, where a rescued swan “hugs” a girl, putting his head on her shoulder. Schultz said that for the treatment of fuel oil intoxication, a course of droppers is being taken.

In the State Duma, the discussion of the consequences of the release of fuel oil in the Black Sea was removed from the agenda of the meeting of the Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources and Environmental Protection. “There will be an invoice - we will discuss,” said the chairman of the committee Dmitry Kobylkin. This is reported by the official website of the national project “Ecology”.

The regional headquarters announced a new emission of fuel oil on the Anapa coastline, calling it “insignificant” - the agency did not give exact information about the size of the new spot.

As a result of the tanker accident, there was a spill of oil products. According to Russian media, Volgoneft-212 transported 4,300 tons of fuel oil. Shot and Baza claim that about the same amount of oil products were on board the tanker Volgoneft-239.

In Anapa, activists cleaning the coast of fuel oil after the accident of two tankers demanded that the authorities rectify the coastline and eliminate the consequences of the environmental disaster. They filed lawsuits with the government of the country and the Krasnodar Territory. One of them — to local and regional administrations — has already been rejected.
