Fizo quarreled with psychiatrists

In Slovakia, more than a hundred specialists in the field of psychology and psychiatry have addressed an open letter to Prime Minister Robert Fizzo, in which they draw attention to his behavior and demand his resignation.

About this, as he writes “European Truth”, reported the Slovak newspaper Aktuality.

The authors of the letter are two leading figures in psychiatry and psychology — Josef Gashto and Anton Geretik. In addition to them, the letter was signed by experts from all over Slovakia.

They said Fizo's behavior was increasingly characterized by “a forceful authoritarian style, manipulation of facts, lies, denigrations and attacks on political opponents, journalists and ordinary citizens.”

“You do not disdain attacks on the families of opposition leaders, as was the case with the family of (opposition leader Michal) Shymechka,” the letter said.

The letter also points out that Fizo's foreign policy initiatives contradict the policies of the European Union and NATO, of which Slovakia is still a member. They criticize his negative attitude towards Ukraine and the Ukrainian president, as well as friendly relations with the Russian aggressor.

“We look forward to your capacity for introspection and the ability to correct your political behavior, including consideration of stepping back from big politics,” the letter said.

A similar letter was published by the Slovak Chamber of Psychologists. In it, they warn of growing social tensions and bad moods in Slovakia. They add that tense relations between politicians are also transmitted to citizens.

In a letter, the House of Psychologists urges politicians to “be aware of their responsibility and refrain from statements that may incite violence.” They want politicians to set an example for society and encourage respect and tolerance.

Robert Fizzo responded to the criticism on social media. He called psychiatrists and psychologists longtime opponents of the current authorities and accused them of abusing their profession for political purposes. He argues that they reject the basic principle of democracy and do not respect the results of elections.

The day before, Fizo accused the opposition of “subterfuge” in front of Volodymyr Zelensky.
