Lenur Islamov was removed from command of the volunteer 48th Separate Assault Battalion named after Noman Chelebijihan, which he created himself.

This was reported by the soldiers of the battalion in social networks, reports Ukrainian truth.

The soldiers in the released video noted that for the past 11 months the battalion held the defense in Donetsk region. 10 days ago they were transferred to Pokrovsk in 12 hours and they fulfilled the order “despite the lack of proper intelligence”, although they needed to be restored.

According to the fighters, on January 17 they received orders to appoint another commander instead of Lenur Islamov, who created the battalion.

They stressed that the change of commander is currently undermining the battalion's combat capability. Islamov himself confirmed that he was removed from the leadership of the battalion.

“Changing the commander at a critical moment is a direct threat to the combat capability of the unit and undermine the confidence of the fighters! We call to stop and protect the battalion that has proven its loyalty in blood on the battlefield!” the statement said.
