Russia charged the Crimeans with 26.4 million rubles for “discrediting” their army

As of the end of December 2024, 1126 administrative cases were initiated in Crimea under the article on the “discrediting” of the Russian army. This is stated in the message of the Permanent Representation of the President of Ukraine in the ARC, they report Crimea.Realities.

According to the department, in 993 cases, a decision was made to impose an administrative penalty in the form of a fine or was attached to another case under another article and a summary decision was made. In 36 cases, the consideration of materials continues. 442 (45%) decisions were made in relation to women, and 550 (55%) - in relation to men. In total, the total amount of fines applied already amounts to at least 26.4 million Russian rubles.

At the end of November 2024, 1,093 cases for “discrediting” the army of the Russian Federation, filed against the inhabitants of Crimea, were reported. Of these, 955 cases were ordered to impose an administrative penalty in the form of a fine.

After the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation and the territories occupied by it, Article 20.3.3 of the KPAP was introduced - on the “discrediting” of the Russian army. The persecution comes for spreading information about the Russian-Ukrainian war and expressing any opinion that contradicts the Kremlin's position.
