In Crimea on January 11, 13 new foci of fuel oil contamination were detected, the head of the Russian government of Crimea Yuri Gotsanyuk said in his Telegram channel, reports Crimea.Realities.
“So far, 13 foci of pollution have been detected in five municipalities - Kerch, Evpatoria, Leninsky, Saksky and Black Sea districts,” Gotsanyuk said.
According to him, “more than 700 people and more than 100 units of equipment are involved in the work.”
For his part, the Russian-controlled head of Kerch Oleg Katorgin said that as of January 11, the release of oil-containing spills “was recorded and eliminated on the city embankment, in the vicinity of the Yeni-Kale fortress, as well as on the beaches of Cherepashka, Smorzhivsky, Molodezhny and the city”.
Earlier, the head of occupation of Crimea Sergey Aksenov said that the situation with fuel oil emissions in Crimea, according to forecasts, may worsen, there is a high risk of increasing the scale of pollution to a level comparable to that recorded on the coast of the Krasnodar Territory of Russia.
