US President Donald Trump called on Russia to “make a deal” to end the war in Ukraine, promising otherwise to tighten sanctions and tariffs against Moscow.

As reported “European Truth”, Trump wrote about it on the Truth Social network.

The US president said he “does not want to harm Russia”, “loves the Russian people and has always had a very good relationship with Putin.” At the same time, he recalled how “Russia helped us win World War II, losing almost 60 million lives.”

“With all this in mind, I am going to do Russia, whose economy is collapsing, and Putin a very big SERVICE. Agree now and stop this senseless war! It will only get worse,” Trump said.

He said that unless an “agreement” was reached “in the near future” to end the war, he would have “no choice but to impose high taxes, tariffs and sanctions on everything that Russia sells to the United States and other countries concerned.”

“Let's end this war that would never have started if I were president! We can do it the easy way or the hard way—and the easy way is always better. It's time to “MAKE A DEAL”. NO MORE LIVES SHOULD BE LOST!!!” — summed up the US President.

It should be noted that on the first day of his presidency, Donald Trump said that Vladimir Putin was destroying Russia without ending the war.

He later said he was ready to consider tightening sanctions against Russia if it did not agree to talks on ending the war in Ukraine.

Putin himself, congratulating Trump on his accession to the presidency of the United States, declared his readiness for dialogue on the war he has unleashed against Ukraine.
