The number of rabies diseases has almost quadrupled in Crimea

In Crimea, the number of cases of rabies in animals has almost quadrupled.

This was reported by the Deputy Head of the Central Department of the State Veterinary Service of the Crimea Dmitry Normansky.

If in 2023 there were only 7 outbreaks of the disease, then in 2024 their number increased to 26, which is an increase of more than 3.7 times. Nine of these cases involved wild animals. Outbreaks of the disease were most often recorded in the Saksk, Dzhankoy and Simferopol districts.
