Zelensky's trust problems grow

The Kyiv International Institute of Sociology conducted a survey of the population's confidence in President Volodymyr Zelensky and concluded that within a year distrust increased to 39%, but 52% of Ukrainians still trust the head of state.

This is reported Ukrainian truth.

“It is worth dwelling on the dynamics of confidence during the year, that is, between December 2023 and December 2024. At the end of 2023, 77% trusted the president, but by February 2024, confidence dropped to 64%, and by May 2024 - to 59% (at the same time, the share of those who do not trust increased over the specified period from 22% to 36%), - says in the message of the KIIS.

The Commission notes that in October the situation regarding confidence stabilized, but already in December there was a decline in confidence in the president, but not due to the votes of the respondents who do not trust, but due to uncertainty in the answers. That is, between October and December, uncertainty grew primarily, not distrust.

The Institute of Sociology concluded that as of December 2024, 52% of Ukrainians trusted Zelensky, 39% did not trust. The remaining 9% said they could not decide. Despite the fact that the confidence indicator decreased during the year, the trust-distrust balance remained positive - +13%.

The survey was conducted on December 2-17, 2024, 2000 respondents were interviewed. The survey was conducted with adults (aged 18 years and older) citizens of Ukraine who at the time of the survey were residing in the territory of Ukraine, which was controlled by the Government of Ukraine. The sample did not include residents of territories temporarily not controlled by the Ukrainian authorities, but temporarily displaced persons were surveyed, and the survey was not conducted with citizens who left abroad after February 24, 2022.

The statistical error of the sample of about 1000 respondents did not exceed 4.1% for indicators close to 50%, 3.5% for indicators close to 25%, 2.5% for indicators close to 10%, 1.8% for indicators close to 5%.

In recent studies, the KIIS revealed that the number of Ukrainians who believe in a bright future for Ukraine has been declining for the second year in a row.

Also, after the survey of respondents, the KIIS noted that the number of Ukrainians who are ready to bear the burden of war as much as necessary is decreasing.

Later, the ICRC said that at the end of 2024, the number of Ukrainians who are ready for territorial concessions for the sake of peace increased, while the share of those who are categorically against any concessions decreased.
