A Russian court has sentenced two years and ten months to settlement colony officer Igor Pashkov in a negligence case for the downed helicopter of the Russian Ministry of Defense. This is reported Crimea.Realitieswith reference to “Kommersant”.

Pashkov served as a senior assistant to the operational duty command post of one of the air defense units located in the annexed Crimea.

According to the investigation, on the morning of October 18, 2023, Pashkov was on combat duty, he received a report on the detection of an aerial target - a Ukrainian drone. He incorrectly reported to management its coordinates.

The check showed that there were no “own planes” in the place indicated by him, as a result, two minutes later, the missile shot down a Russian helicopter. Later it became known that a Mi-8MTV-5 was shot down, which fell into the Black Sea.

Three members of his crew were killed. The court awarded one million rubles for moral damage to the pilots widows. Another five million rubles Pashkov was ordered to pay the Russian Ministry of Defense.

In addition, he was deprived of the right to hold positions related to organizational and administrative functions in the civil service and local self-government bodies for one year.
