President Volodymyr Zelensky responded to an invitation by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fizo to meet to discuss the gas issue, but put forward his condition — he wants Fizo to come to Kyiv on Friday.

It should be recalled that on January 13, Fizo signed an open letter to Zelensky, in which he invited the head of Ukraine to a meeting to settle the problems with gas transit.

Fizzo said he had “no intention of further escalation of tensions” and wanted to concentrate fully on resolving the situation related to the transit suspension.

Fizo suggested that the meeting take place on Slovak territory near the state border between Slovakia and Ukraine.

“It is symbolic that you could use the direct rail link from Kiev to Kosice, which is the result of the joint efforts of our governments, in order to reach Slovak territory,” Fizo said.

President Zelensky on the X social network responded very succinctly to the invitation of Fizo. “Ok. Come to Kyiv on Friday,” he wrote.
